Project Linus Make-A-Blanket-Day 2009
Saturday, July 18        10am to 4pm
Make-A-Blanket-Day will be held in Orinson Hall at the
Advent Lutheran Church, 8840 University City Blvd., Charlotte, NC
-Your knitting or crochet needles; or your sewing machine
-Child-friendly yarn or fabric to make blankets with
   -Yarn should be machine washable; please, no wool
   -Fabric can be cotton or fleece in child-friendly prints
   -Quilting supplies as needed, including batting
-Your sack lunch & drink
We will have some supplies (yarn, batting, fabric, etc.) available for our volunteers to use.
Other events during the day....

Quilt & Blanket Raffle - Your chance to win a quilt or blanket made by local Project
Linus members. Proceeds will be used to purchase supplies for the local group. Tickets
will be available throughout the day; drawings will be at 3:30pm; you do not have to be
present to win.
Blanket Reunion! Anyone who has ever received a Project Linus blanket is invited to
sto
p by with your blanket - we would love to hear your story!
Project Linus is a national, non-profit, all-volunteer organization that provides new,
handmade, washable blankets to seriously ill and traumatized children. Children receiving
blankets range in age from newborns to 18-year-olds.

All styles of blankets are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets,
crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets.

The Charlotte chapter meets monthly on the second Tuesday from 6:30pm until 8
:30pm at
the Candlewyck Baptist Church, 7200 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC.
