2004. Yardage requirements, needle sizes, pros & cons
of batting. An indispensable book for any quilter.

One Stitch Quilting: The Basics by Donna Dewberry &
Cindy Casciato. Krause Publishing. 2006.  New ideas,
methods, & ways of putting quilts together. I like this
book so much that I have 2 copies!

Quilting for Beginners by Seams So Easy. Creative
Publishing International.  1998 (still in print). A good
introduction with photos of techniques.  
Machine Techniques
All About Machine Arts: Decorative Techniques from
A to Z from C&T Publishing. A great reference for any
type of embellishment you might want to try.

Appliqué the Ann Boyce Way by Ann Boyce. Chilton
Books. 1993.  Out of print, but you can usually find copies
at
Amazon. Excellent machine appliqué book.

Happy Endings - Finishing the Edges of Your Quilt by
Mimi Dietrich. That Patchwork Place. This classic has
been revised & updated. An excellent guide to backings
and bindings for your quilt.

Machine Quilting Made Easy by Maruine Noble. That
Patchwork Place.  I have an old edition, but it's still in
print. All the books in this "Joy of Quilting" series are
excellent.  Practical and useful.

Machine Quilting With Decorative Threads by Maruine
Noble and Elizabeth Hendricks. 1998. That Patchwork
Place. Every thread you would every want to use is
matched to the correct needle, tension, and sewing
stitch. This book is a life saver (or a quilt saver!). Check
Amazon for copies.
Polar Fleece
Nancy Cornwell's Polar Magic books.  Kraus Publishing.
She goes beyond the usual ideas, focusing on
embellishment techniques. Some are out of print.

The
PolarFleece Pizzazz Series by Ruthann Spiegelhoff.  
Great Copy Patternsl. Great patterns for hats, mittens, &
other fleece wear.

Kwik Sew Patterns have excellent fleece clothing
designs.  
McCalls, Simplicity, & other pattern companies
have fleece patterns for blankets.
Rotary Cutting
Around the Block with Judy Hopkins. That Patchwork
Place. Cutting directions for 200 blocks, each available in
finished sizes from 6" to 14" square. Unfortunately out of
print! Try

Another one of her excellent books. Includes both right-
and left-handed instructions.
Baby Quilts
The P.S. I Love You series by Nancy Smith & Lynda
Milligan. Possibilities Books/Great American Quilt
Company. Delightful books with patterns & directions for
lots of easy quilts.

Animal Kingdom CD-ROM & other Margaret Rolfe books.  
 If you don't know the technique called paper piecing, the
patterns on this CD will make you want to learn.
Making Clothes
Any book by Sandra Betzina is worth owning! And her line
of patterns,Today's Fit, is available from Vogue Patterns.
She is a sewing goddess!!!
