Most of the time I'm a
jeans-n-tshirt person, but here I
am dressed in my Renaissance
Faire Costume (with a baby
dragon on my shoulder).
I've been sewing since I was 8 years old and got a Singer Sew Handy. I
began making patchwork pieces in college, in the days before rotary
cutters or good cottons.

I started teaching quilting about 15 years ago. I've taught a variety of
quilting techniques (from basics to paper piecing & wearable art design) at
quilt guilds, quilt stores, churches, and most recently for Project Linus.

I love teaching beginners, including children and teens. Many of the
classes I've developed are for people with little sewing experience and no
quilting background.

I think classes should be fun and no-pressure: most people take a class
to enjoy themselves. I delight in the camaraderie of my students as they
work together and gain confidence.

I do my best to tailor my teaching to each student, whether beginner
or expert. During classes, I spend time with every student to ensure
success.

My passions are batiks, bright colors, oriental prints, and a love of
learning something new.
I enjoy the challenge of making clothing, as well
as the ease of working with fleece. If it's fabric, I love it!!!

I'm developing a line of patterns for quilters, based on quilts and other
projects I've made. As I get a pattern finished, I'll announce it on this site.
